… you start picking out fountain pen brands in movies.  I had no idea Lex Luthor had a Pelikan M800 in “Superman Returns”.  Until now.

Yup!

My cat;) Purr~~

I don’t know if I should be happy or slightly offended. On one hand, hooray a cheap alternative to an already cheap pen!

On the other…I genuinely feel sorry for Lamy.

I thought I sort of leaned into the side of not really caring about strict intellectual property rights. Sure, a short monopolization period is a huge incentive to create new ideas and products but the more efficient route would be to set the idea free and let it be harnessed by the most efficient producer.

But now? I feel like I want to eat my words and tell myself that intellectual property rights matter to some degree…these pens look so close to the Lamy Safari.

OMG! Unbelievable!

Written with a Lamy al-star with a 1.1mm Italic nib. Inked with Sailor Sei boku. One of my favorite black blue inks. The first time ever writing with an Italic nib! It does take some time to break in!

The ink seen here is J Herbin Éclat De Saphir. My favorite blue ink!

If you can pronounce correctly every word in this poem, you will be speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the world.

After trying the verses, a Frenchman said he’d prefer six months of hard labour to reading six lines aloud.
